beat Hadleigh 162-
by 138 runs
A dissapointing defeat at Worlington sees Hadleigh go into Saturday’s home game with Haverhill (1pm) in the bottom half of the table.
Josh Davey’s side were unable to bounce back from last week’s narrow defeat to promotion-chasers Sudbury with a second successive loss leaving them eighth.
The Worlington openers made the visiting attack toil as Chris Baugh (144no) and Richard Ford (85) posted a first-wicket partnership of 149.
Jimmy Watson (8) departed before surviving opener Baugh dominated a 122-run stand with Graham Ford (36).
Kyle Tanner took 2-74 while there was also a wicket apiece for Kalpesh Ellis (1-60) and Tom Piddington (1-57).
Hadleigh’s daunting run chase was made no easier as Sean Cooper (4-21) dismissed Ellis without a run on the board and, between himself and Nathan Twiddy (3-66), continued to make regular inroads into the top-order.
Danny Rock (26) and Sam Handley (58no) helped their side collect the third batting point, but the chase was too much as Hadleigh closed on 162-9.
n Hadleigh II (149) lost by 42 runs at home to St Margarets (191-7) in Division Four.
Opener Nadie Abdul top scored with 36, which included five fours and a six, while Alex Milnes hit 31 and James Gilderson 25.
Dave Bird was the standout Hadleigh bowler, taking 4-55 from his 15 overs.
