You proved me wrong, Babergh

IT’S not often I’m glad to be proved wrong but I must admit that I am today.

In October my letter in the Free Press stated that free parking had very little chance of continuing, likewise the health centre had little chance of ever being built.

Let’s hope I was wrong on both counts. Keep watching Churchfield Road.

Well done, Babergh (and I don’t say that very often) for taking note of everything said by shoppers and retailers alike.

All retailers are having hard times at the moment and need all the help they can get; pay parking is now one thing less for them to worry about.

Now that car parking has been sorted maybe the next area for public pressure should be petrol prices. Why we ask is petrol 5p per litre more in Sudbury than Ipswich, Colchester and Bury?

The supermarkets seem to be the controlling factor when it comes to pricing, all other petrol stations seem to follow them.

Perhaps we should stop buying petrol at Tesco Sudbury and then maybe they will bring their price into line with their branches in Bury, Ipswich and Colchester.

Tesco Sudbury has had it all its own way as far as petrol is concerned. Maybe what we need is another supermarket selling petrol in the town.
