The contractors responsible for collecting the recycling bins in the Sudbury area and presumably many other local areas are refusing to collect the recycling bins this week as the pavements are too dangerous for them to walk/work on and are blaming the local councils for not keeping the paths clear.
It is obviously not a problem for possibly old and frail people to drag their bins out on to the pavement for them to be collected or a problem for most people to walk on them.
Do they have any concept that we are in the middle of a recession and council budgets have been cut and yes it would be nice to have clear pavements, but at what extra cost?
The workers need to get real and go the extra mile just like many other people do.
There is clear snow-free pavement between my bin and the road, so what is the problem?
