We followed correct procedure for Sudbury banners

WITH reference to Linda Dowdall’s letter (Free Press, September 13) regarding Babergh’s regulations restricting banners in Sudbury and the perception of a complete ban on banners, may I, as a producer of the SDS production of Calendar Girls, point out that I have not found this to be the case.

The director of our play followed procedure in seeking consent to put up a banner for Calendar Girls in the town by contacting the planning office at Babergh District Council, and was given permission with no problem at all.

Thank you, Babergh.
