WHAT a disgrace this new idea for a pedestrian crossing for King Street is.
We already have a pelican crossing just a few yards away and now the council wants to snarl up the traffic again.
As well as using council tax that could be better spent elsewhere around the town, think of all the new housing estates springing up around Sudbury, all of which will provide more vehicles to congest in the town’s traffic mayhem. For example, 200 houses could produce approximately three cars per house, which equals 600 extra vehicles on the road.
The bypass it seems has been long forgotten. So come on, Suffolk County Council, use your brains and not your shovels!
