The criticism of Fiona Bruce over her comments regarding Sudbury and, more to the point, St Peter’s may be a little harsh at face value but this kind of ill-informed journalism is all to prevalent in today’s media.

As anyone who has lived in and around the Sudbury area for any length of time knows, this building provides a soul for the town centre.

It has many functions and is a focal point for various organisations.

My former class tutor Roger Green has spent many years preserving the church and ensuring it has a vibrant future. I can only imagine how upset he must have been over those comments.

I have enjoyed the craft fairs and suchlike on show and couldn’t think of a better setting on Market Hill for this kind of thing.

It would have been much easier to get the picture of Sudbury accurate with a little more time and a little less bias. Hopefully Fiona will take up the offers to revisit and drop the blinkers.
