As reported in last week’s Free Press, Stoke-by-Nayland Middle School closed on Friday as part of the Suffolk Schools Organisation Review.
My son has just left Stoke-by-Nayland Middle School as a consequence, and I would just like to pay tribute to David Livingstone and all the staff and governors at the school for ensuring that the transfer of pupils – the majority of whom will now attend Thomas Gainsborough School – was effected so smoothly.
Closing a school must be an incredibly hard task, both personally and organisationally for those involved.
However, the team at Stoke-by-Nayland have succeeded in doing so without rancour, achieving excellent results and ensuring that pupils’ experience remained positive throughout.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish all the staff well for whatever their future holds.
