Choir is still going strong

Hadleigh Community Choir’s summer concert raised £112 for the charity Families in Need and made a profit that will ensure the choir’s financial stability through to the end of 2013.

The unique mix of summer-themed music and song, readings and audience participation, followed by an afterglow and luxury prize draw supported by Adnams, The Ram, Tessitori and Morrisons, ensured that this was our best concert yet.

Not too bad for a choir that was officially launched just over a year ago.

We continue to go from strength to strength and are proud to be providing the choral music and performance pieces at Hadleigh town mayor’s civic service at St Mary’s Church on September 22.

We have also booked our Christmas concert for December 7 at Hadleigh Baptist Church.

During August, the choir will be taking a well-earned rest, but on September 5 we restart the autumn session of rehearsals at the United Reformed Church on Thursday at 7pm. If anyone would like to join us, they would be very welcome.

The aim of the choir is to give public performances of light and popular music to the highest standard possible, while at the same time creating a friendly and supportive environment for everybody within the choir.

Performances are given to raise funds for charity and to help local organisations.
