Another nail in the town’s coffin

I FEAR that the new pedestrian crossing in King Street will cause horrendous traffic queues. It can be bad enough now getting into town with only the one crossing and cars reversing out of the Market Hill parking spaces.

By introducing a crossing 100 yards from the roundabout and 100 yards before the present crossing, I forecast delays will be multiplied three of four fold.

Queues will stretch back to the Aldi lights in Girling Street, Delphi in Newton Road and Sainsbury’s in Cornard Road.

Another nail in the coffin of Sudbury town centre and a severe reduction in Waitrose takings.

May I suggest buying shares in Sainsbury’s and changing the name ‘Cats Lane’ to ‘Rat Run Lane’!
