A mother’s thanks

To all supporters of the Megan Roper Appeal.

As you all know by now, we have raised the £76,000 needed in order to adapt our home for Megan’s needs and I felt my most sincere thank you needed to be said.

Unfortunately, I cannot thank every one of you individually as the response to the appeal was huge but you all know who you are.

I am totally and utterly overwhelmed by the support that you have all shown and am thrilled that Megan has been taken to your hearts.

As you know, she’s a beautiful little girl who has had a difficult start in life and we do not know what the future holds but we remain hopeful.

The appeal has restored my faith in humanity and I have been honoured to attend functions and meet organisations that I did not know existed. I have made new friends and hope to stay in contact with you all for some time to come.

So what does the future hold for Megan? Well, the build is due to start in March and we are currently still raising money for a wheelchair-accessible vehicle to meet her needs, and also equipment for a sensory room.

We have a football match planned for the spring and a disco.

As always, your continued support will be much appreciated.

I would also like to thank the Free Press staff for their support during the appeal especially Neil and Sue – they have been an immense support to me and I hope we too will stay in touch.

So thank you once again.

Sarah Roper
