I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thankyou to everyone who helped The Five Bells raise a further £565 for Headley Court Hospital over the VE weekend.
To Fortune for starting the weekend off with their wonderful rendition of the 40s music and to Terry on the piano on Saturday evening.
The lads that manned the firing range and those that brought their military vehicles and historical memorabilia for people to see. Rob and Mandy for the sausage rolls and cup cakes. To all the local businesses, Fanboo hairdressers, the Saracens Head, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, the card factory and everyone else who kindly donated raffle prizes.
All our customers old and new for supporting our event and getting in the spirit of things and dressing up.
And, of course, not forgetting my husband Bob for decorating the pub, and providing the delicious 40s menu taking us back in time once again.
We did not raise as much as last year but, in the current climate, we’ve done well and 100 per cent of the money raised will go to Headley Court Hospital for our wounded heroes.
Once again everyone, thank you and come back again next year.
