PLANS for a new Morrisons store in Hadleigh will go on display next week.

The supermarket is working with QD Stores to refurbish the Buyright shop in Calais Street. It wants to create a 50,000 square foot supermarket next to a new Buyright store.

Full details of the plans, including designs and computer-generated images, will be on display during a public exhibition in the Dining Room of the Guildhall, in Market Place, on Thursday and Friday.

Officials from Morrisons will be on hand to discuss the development, which will provide 250 new jobs, and answer questions from the town’s residents.

James Smith, development executive at Morrisons, said: “This is an exciting opportunity that we believe will meet the needs of the people of Hadleigh, while creating hundreds of new local jobs.”

The exhibition will run from 7pm to 8.30pm on Thursday and 9.30am to 4pm on Friday.
