Woman in her 70s dies and two others injured following traffic collision in Alpheton
A woman has died and two other people have been hospitalised, following a serious road traffic collision in Alpheton this morning.
Emergency services were called out at approximately 11.45am today, to reports that a BMW and a Mini had collided on the A134, between Alpheton and Lawshall, resulting in the road being partially blocked.
Two air ambulances, land ambulance crews and four fire appliances attended the scene, but a woman in her 70s was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another woman and a man have been transported to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, one with life-threatening injuries and the other with life-changing injuries.
The road remains closed in both directions through rush hour, but is expected to re-open this evening.
Suffolk Police is appealing for any witnesses to the collision, or anybody who has dashboard-camera footage of the incident, to come forward.
