Woman dies after serious traffic collision in Long Melford
A woman has died following a serious road traffic collision in Long Melford yesterday evening.
Emergency services were called out at 8.45pm on Sunday, following reports that a single vehicle had crashed on a stretch of the A134.
Ambulance and fire crews attended, but one of the vehicles occupants – a woman aged in her 40s – was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man, who was the other occupant of the vehicle, was subsequently transported to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge for treatment, having sustained serious injuries as a result of the incident.
Police closed the road until 6am this morning, to allow for a collision investigation to take place, and would now like to hear from anybody with information about the crash.
