Woman cut free from car crash wreckage
A driver narrowly escaped being impaled by a fence post after a road traffic collision in Sible Hedingham.
The woman, who was in her 30s, walked away with only scratches after being cut free by the Essex Fire and Rescue Service at around 7.45am on Thursday.
Station officer Danny Partridge said she had a lucky escape.
“The car rolled on to a fence post which went right across the driver’s seat,” he said. “A few inches more, and it would have impaled the driver.
“Once we freed the woman, she was able to walk away from the car and into the ambulance.”
She was taken to Colchester Hospital for further treatment.
