A woman in her 40s had to be cut free from her vehicle after a collision involving a tanker lorry and a car in Belchamp Walter.

Two fire engines from Halstead and one from Colchester arrived in Puttock End at around 2.30pm on Friday.

The woman was treated by East of England ambulance staff for injuries to her neck, head and leg.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said: “Thankfully, her injuries were not life-threatening and she was taken to Broomfield Hospital for further care.”
