A Sudbury whiskey tasting club will mark one year of gatherings with a special celebration event this week.

The Knight Ponderers club is set to stage its anniversary whiskey night at the Brewery Tap public house in East Street tomorrow evening, beginning at 7.30pm.

The organisation, which meets up once every month, invites people to try out a variety of drinks while pondering life’s big or little issues with other attendees.

Organiser Eddie Bone told the Free Press: “The art of pondering and having a good discussion over a drink is what it’s all about.

“The idea is that it’s a really informal way of experiencing whiskey. It’s interesting just how successful that has been.

“We get about 20 to 25 people each month. We are expecting quite a few this time around.”

For the anniversary event, attendees can pay £10 to try several types of whiskey, aged between 15 and 38 years old, plus a selection of cheeses.
