Where to enjoy your fireworks this Autumn

Fireworks events will be taking place this weekend, lighting up the skies and bringing much-needed colour as wintry weather sets in. In Long Melford the fireworks will again be accompanied by music, with a special competition for everyone to take part in.

Gates open at The Big Night Out at Melford Hall Park at 6pm on Friday, November 6, with the funfair and numerous food and drink stalls.

The fireworks will be accompanied by a special ‘Battle of the Bands’, USA v UK.

Spectators will be able to vote which country was best at Compact Music, in North Street, Sudbury, with the chance to win a £20 voucher.

Cavendish - Saturday, November 7, will see the Cavendish Fireworks Display on Cavendish Village Green.

Starting at 6.30pm, the free annual fireworks display includes a bonfire and a barbecue. All proceeds to local causes.

Great Cornard - The parish council fireworks night take place at the Stevenson Centre on Saturday, November 7.

Gates open at 6pm, with the bonfire lit at 6.40pm and fireworks beginning at 7pm. Entrance is £1.50, with children in pushchairs free. Hot foot, drinks and novelties for sale.

Elsewhere in the village Pot Kiln Primary School is holding its own fireworks night on Thursday, November 5.

Starting at 5.30pm, fireworks begin at 6pm. Entrance for adults is £3, children £1. All money raised goes to the PTA funds to support the school.

There will also be live music and a barbecue.

The bonfire will be lit at 7.30pm before the 8pm firework spectacular. Tickets £7 for adults, £5 for children. Reduced advanced tickets are available.
