Project Seven, a group which has raised more than £500,000 for community organisations in and around Long Melford, is searching for new members.
President Andrew Hagger said the group needs new blood to take it to the next phase of its development, as some of its committee are aged between 60 and 72 and want to step down next year.
Since being formed in 1982, hundreds of organisations have benefited from its fundraising. On Saturday, the charity held its annual presentation, giving £9,500 to 44 groups, including Long Melford Cricket Club, its primary school and playgroup as well as Scouts, Guides and Brownie troops in Long Melford, Lavenham and Sudbury.
Andrew, who organises The Big Night Out fireworks event each year, said: “We are grateful for the help we receive but we need new people who are prepared to give a commitment to the organisation with a view to become committee members to preserve its future.”
