A POPULAR wedding venue has been put up for sale for £1.8million after entering administration.
Kersey Mill regularly hosted weddings, birthday parties and business events until it went into liquidation last month with debts of more than £600,000.
This left people who had booked events at the 17-acre private estate desperately searching for alternative venues.
Administrators this week revealed that any funds raised from the sale of the site, which includes a four-storey water mill mentioned in the Domesday Book, will not go to unsecured creditors, but to settling Kersey Mill Ltd’s outstanding bank debts.
A document sent to the creditors of the company by joint liquidator Lee De’ath said: “Unfortunately, the trustees had borrowed significant sums of money against the property, without the means to repay the debt.”
