A woman in her 60s has been flown to Addenbrooke’s Hospital by air ambulance after suffering a serious head injury when she fell from her bicycle in Ballingdon Street this afternoon.

Emergency services were called at 12.12pm with an ambulance, rapid response vehicle and air ambulance in attendance as well as police officers.

Officers initially closed Ballingdon Street between Middleton Road/Bulmer Road and B1115 Church Street while the lady was treated but it has now reopened.

It is believed the lady was riding on the pavement when she fell from the bike into the road.

However, it is not thought any other vehicles were involved.
