A pair of men have been arrested, in connection with the theft of a forklift truck in Gosfield.

Essex Police received a call shortly before 2.50am on Friday, reporting that a forklift and a van had been spotted driving in convoy along Gosfield Road towards the village.

Subsequently, officers searched the area, before identifying and stopping a white van in Swan Street.

They later discovered the forklift truck nearby, which is understood to be the same vehicle that was previously reported stolen from Petersfield Lane in Gosfield.

A police spokesman has confirmed that a 37-year-old man from Great Yeldham and a 28-year-old man from Sible Hedingham were arrested on Friday, on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.

Both men were taken into police custody for questioning, in relation to the incident.
