A TRIO of friends dressed in decorated bras put their stamina to the test as they took part in a marathon with a difference.
Jodie Budd, Ann Alexander and Donna Cutler competed in the London MoonWalk – a walking marathon to raise money and awareness for breast cancer charities.
Jodie, from Richard Burn Way in Sudbury, said: “It’s something I’ve always wanted to do and, although I’ve done Race for Life in the past, this was the first big one.”
Jodie, who was walking for Uniting Against Breast Cancer, had been training for the event, which began at midnight in Hyde Park, since October.
The trio had completed a 21-mile walk just weeks before hand.
“Doing all our training gave us the confidence we needed and we crossed the line after seven-and-a-half hours, which was very pleasing,” she said.
“We all stuck together and supported each other and the pain was well worth it because the atmosphere was brilliant.”
The MoonWalk has been running since 1998 and has raised more than £50 million for various cancer charities in its history.
