Entries for this year’s Sudbury Fun Run on Good Friday, and its popular sponsored walk, opened from this week.
This year, organisers have set the entry level at 500 runners. But they want to encourage as many walkers to take part as possible, and are looking to beat last year’s figure of 200.
Organiser Jonathan Price said: “This year we will have trophies for the first three overall male and female winners and the winners of each age category.
“There will be a special award sponsored by Wardale Williams for the first male and female finisher, and for anyone over the age of 55.”
Mr Price said organisers are seeking local businesses or individuals to step up and to sponsor part of the annual event.
Last year the Easter event raised a total of £6,500 for charity.
Two charities benefitted from the funds raised.
Action on Hearing Loss and the Kernos Centre in Sudbury were both given cheques for £3,250.
