Police are appealing for information after three home burglary incidents on Monday including one in Layham near Hadleigh.

The first happened at a home in Freston, south of Ipswich, around 12.25 on Monday, July 4. A female resident of the property was upstairs when she heard a bang from downstairs.

She went to investigate and found the bottom part of the back door had been kicked in. Nothing was stolen as it’s thought the offender was disturbed before entering the property.

Between 8.30am and 3.30pm on the same day a home at Hyams Lane in Holbrook was broken into and a search was made, with two laptops and a quantity of cash being stolen.

The other incident happened at Water Lane in Layham, south of Hadleigh, around 2pm on the same day. Someone broke into the home via the front door of the property and made a search. At this stage it’s not clear what was taken.

Police are keen to speak to two males on a moped who were seen leaving the Water Lane area around this time. The pillion rider is described as white, in his late teens to 20s and of average build.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious in these areas on Monday, July 4, or anyone with information about the offenders is asked to contact Ipswich CID by dialling Suffolk Police on 101, quoting crime number 42511/16.

Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers, anonymously if required, on 0800 555 111.
