Long Melford Street Fair is returning with thousands of visitors set to descend on the village for the annual fete.

The fair takes place on Sunday between 3pm and 8pm, and promises to be another hit.

Hall Street will be packed out with a wide variety of stalls and vendors and a whole host of family entertainment.

Already, the event is officially a sell-out with all pitches having been sold.

Speaking about the fair, organising committee chairman John Nunn said the reason it was so successful was because it was a “unique event in the area”.

He added: “It seems to go down well with the locals.”

This year, new fairground rides have been brought in and there is a fresh line-up of musical acts.

If rain does fall, it will not halt the fun, said Mr Nunn.

“I think it’s still a good day regardless,” he said. “I hope people turn up and enjoy themselves.”

The fair regularly attracts more than 8,000 people and is a firm favourite with exhibitors.
