Thomas Gainsborough School in Great Cornard hails major refurbishment of sports centre coffee shop
A coffee shop at Thomas Gainsborough School in Great Cornard has undergone a major make-over.
Located at the school’s sports centre, the refurbished facility provides a relaxed and sociable setting for visitors, staff and students.
Liz Clements, who manages the premises, hopes those living in the area will take full advantage of the renovated site.
“It’s about building that relationship with locals,” she said, adding that the redeveloped facility would enable visitors to pick up a coffee, before either settling down to read a book in the school’s library, or a session at the gym.
“As we’re a growing area and because there isn’t a coffee shop in Great Cornard, we thought it would be an ideal destination.”
The coffee shop is open from Monday to Friday, between 7am and 9pm. Weekend opening times are between 9am and 5pm.
The project, which has involved a partnership between the school and Suffolk Libraries, will stage a grand opening in September.
