Suspected arson at barn in Great Cornard

Fire crews tackled a barn fire in Great Cornard last night which is believed to be arson.

Two engines from Sudbury were sent to the scene at Joes Road at around midnight.

On arrival, firefighters used two hose reels and thermal imaging cameras to put out three separate seats of fire within the 30m by 15m barn.

A fire service spokesman said: “The incident was under control by 1.15am and the cause of the fire is believed to be malicious.”
