Suffolk MP elected to Energy and Climate Change Select Committee
Central Suffolk and North Ipswich MP Dr Dan Poulter has been elected to the Energy and Climate Change Select Committee in Parliament.
It examines the expenditure, administration and policy of the department and its associated bodies.
The Conservative MP said: “I am delighted to have been elected by my colleagues to sit on the Energy and Climate Change Committee.
“My role on the Committee will have particular relevance to my constituency of Central Suffolk and North Ipswich as there are a number of major energy issues that will be facing us in the near future, including the construction of Sizewell C.
“This Committee position will give me a strong opportunity to properly scrutinise some of the important issues that are facing us in Suffolk and to further scruitinise the Government on major energy proposals as well as ensure an evidenced based approach is taken to combatting climate change.
“I look forward to taking up my role.”
