Sudbury marching band returns after article in Free Press
A marching band from the 1980s which reformed for the return of Sudbury Carnival in 2014 has again reunited to take part this year’s carnival procession.
Sudbury’s Marching Band 2014 was formed by 90 former members especially for the return of the carnival.
The band raised money for cancer charities that year, and after seeing an article in the Free Press asking for a band, members decided to get together again.
Sharron Thomas, founder of the band, said: “I recently saw an article in the paper quoting there was no band for this year’s carnival so we have got together to do it all over again.”
