A Sudbury man was found dead at his home after worried relatives alerted the police, an inquest has heard.

When officers went to Mark Eggleston’s home in Windsor Place on July 19 they found curtains and blankets over the windows and a chair behind the door.

Today the hearing at Bury St Edmunds was told that when no reply could be obtained, police forced entry and found the body of Mr Eggleston, 45, on his knees in a bedroom.

Assistant Suffolk Coroner Nigel Parsley said some drug related items were found in the property.

A post mortem examination listed the cause of Mr Eggleston’s death as cardiac failure, opiate overdose and bipolar disorder.

Mr Parsley adjourned the inquest until December to allow enquiries to be completed.
