Sudbury group’s hunt is on for good actors in High Heels

Its Christmas pantomime may be about to start, but Sudbury Dramatic Society is already searching for cast members for its next play – a murder mystery planned for the new year.

Actor Malcolm Hollister, from Hadleigh, will have no sooner finished playing an ugly sister in Cinderella, which starts tomorrow and runs until December 30, than he will be turning his thoughts to the society’s production of Death in High Heels in May.

Malcolm, who is directing the play – his first for the drama group – has launched a search for a cast of 10 people to include seven women and three men of all ages.

He is holding an open audition on Monday, January 7, at 7.30pm at The Quay Theatre in a quest to find the right people for the parts.

Death in High Heels was written by Richard Harris and is based on a murder mystery novel by Christianna Brand. The play is set in a fashionable London boutique in the 1930s, and is full of twists and turns.

Anyone can audition, and scripts are available on short loan from the Quay’s box office for anyone interested in taking part.
