The parents of a six-year-old girl have been left humbled by their daughter’s kind gesture, after she donated some of her locks to charity.

Jessie-May Jones, of Ballingdon Gardens, Sudbury, has exceeded her target by raising more than £900 for the Little Princess Trust, which provides wigs for young people suffering from cancer.

Jessie is thrilled with her new hair style, which dad Mark said made her look very grown up.

“She was raring to go,” said Mr Jones. “I’ve never seen her so excited.”

Jessie received a certificate with a letter from the charity.
