Sudbury carnival changes as Jack Owen steps down

Sudbury mayor Jack Owen has stepped down from his role as chairman of the Sudbury Carnival Committee.

Mr Owen, influential in the popular carnival’s return, will be replaced by his daughter Alison.

“It will make the work a little lighter hopefully,” he said.

The committee has been successful in its bid to find several new members to ensure the carnival continues to run.

It is hoped the carnival will be even bigger next year, benefitting from a new route and the use of Belle Vue Park, while there is an application to use the station car park.
