Sudbury-based firm’s latest takeover

Sudbury-based aviation, industrial and defence engineering firm MEL Group has announced the acquisition of another engineering company, Didsbury Engineering, based in Wilmslow, Cheshire.

The MEL Group says the new collaboration will broaden the group’s capabilities and offerings to customers as an engineering solutions provider to the aerospace, defence and industrial sectors providing additional synergy and support.

The Didsbury Engineering name will continue as a part of the new structure.

Didsbury Engineering specialise in precision machining, fabrications, lifting, confined space operations and general ground support equipment for military, civil and industrial applications.

The business focuses on lifting high value loads and work in confined spaces.
