Stoke College rated good by inspectors
Stoke College, an independent day and boarding school in Stoke-by-Clare, has been given top marks for pupils’ personal development by the Independent Schools Inspectorate.
The inspectorate inspects independent schools which are members of the Independent Schools Council, and is overseen by Ofsted.
In a recently-published inspection report, inspectors praised the college’s supportive ethos.
Headmaster Frank Thompson said: “As we welcome international students for the first time, it is really pleasing to see the report highlight how enthusiastically our pupils promote understanding of their own and others cultures.”
Chair of governors Jonathan Burchell said: “The inspectors did bring to our attention a small number of issues under compliance, mostly relating to the buildings that date back many hundreds of years, which we embrace.”
