Star-studded murder mystery at Cambridge Arts Theatre
Following classic murder mysteries such as Go Back for Murder, Black Coffee and And Then There Were None, Bill Kenwright returns with a new production from the legendary writing team Levinson and Link, whose work includes the mystery series Murder, She Wrote and Columbo.
Playwright Alex Dennison is left heartbroken when his fiancée and leading lady, Monica Welles, is found dead from an apparent suicide. On the anniversary of that ill-fated night, Alex assembles the same cast and crew in the same theatre, for a reading of his new play. But as the reading begins, it becomes clear that Alex believes that Monica was murdered and he intends to uncover her killer.
The star-studded cast includes leading stage and TV actor Robert Daws (The Royal, Outside Edge), and his wife and co-star from The Royal, Amy Robbins, Robert Duncan (Drop the Dead Donkey), Susan Penhaligon (Bouquet of Barbed Wire), Ben Nealon (Soldier Soldier), Steven Pinder (Brookside) and Lucy Dixon (Waterloo Road).
Following the decade-long success of The Agatha Christie Theatre Company, Bill Kenwright has announced The Classic Thriller Theatre Company, with Rehearsal for Murder as its debut production.
