For the past decade The Lord Chamberlain’s Men have brought their annual nationwide tour to Stanley Hall, the moated Elizabethan Manor House in Halstead.

In 2016, the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death, the production will be Much Ado About Nothing – his battle-of-the-sexes comedy.

The story of trickery, treachery and, ultimately, true love will be performed at the Hall On Friday, June 17, from 7.30pm.

Artistic director Peter Stickney said: “Much Ado is the play that our audiences have been begging us to return to.

“This summer comedy has one of Shakespeare’s most famous and funniest warring couples that will keep you guessing about their relationship until the end. I can’t think of anything more perfect than a retelling of this great play set against the background of one of the nation’s most beautiful outdoor venues. “

Tickets cost £15 and are available at www.stanleyhall.co.uk.
