This year’s Girls Night Out in Bury St Edmunds has raised a staggering £190,000, the highest amount ever.
Organisers are thrilled with the outcome of the event staged last September which saw 1,800 people taking part in the walk through Bury St Edmuunds.
It costs £11,000 every day to run all the hospital services which, as well as the Macmillan Way hospice, includes caring for 350 people in their homes and those at the hospice outreach centre in Haverhill.
Jenny Baskett, events and challenges fund-raising officer, said: “This surpassed iur greatest expectations and we like to think people came out not just to support the hospice but to have a good night out as well. The whole town came out to suppport the night.”
Registration for this year’s event on September 10 opens on April 1.
