Spate of arson incidents in Hadleigh under investigation

An investigation has been launched into a spate of arson incidents, which took place in quick succession in Hadleigh last week.

The three incidents all took place within half an hour of each other on Thursday night.

A wooden fence at the side of a home in Aldham Road was set on fire and destroyed shortly after 10pm, leaving charred remains of the wooden fence post connected to house and superficial damage to the brickwork. Nobody was hurt.

Around the same time, a rear fence was set alight in Timperley Close, damaging the fence post. Again, no-one was injured.

A short while earlier, half of a tree was damaged by flames, after a fire was ignited shortly before 9.40pm.

Suffolk Police confirmed the incidents are being linked and enquiries are ongoing.
