A TEENAGER’S photograph showing all the fun of the fair in Long Melford has won a competition to appear on posters across the area.
Lucy Hinde, 15, had her entry – showing a crowded Hall Street during July’s record-breaking street fair, chosen by the event’s committee – and was presented with her £25 prize on Monday.
Lucy, from Cotswold Drive, said: “It wasn’t easy to get a good shot of everything, so my stepfather and I went up to the top of the helter skelter and got some overview shots, one of which won.”
The keen photographer, who started Year 11 at Sudbury Upper School yesterday, organises photoshoots with her friends and counts still life and dance show photography among her interests.
“My dream job would be in photo journalism, like travelling and working on a magazine or newspaper,” said Lucy.
Todd Lewis, street fair committee member and owner of Bizzi Beans cafe in the village, said: “The brief was to get across the vibe of the street fair. Lucy’s picture shows the streets full of people, with a lot going on.
“It was one of those magic days, the weather broke and everybody came out – the street was absolutely filled.”
