Sisters have soul
Cambridge Operatic Society (CaOS) makes a welcome return to Cambridge Arts Theatre with Sister Act.
The show features original music by Tony and 8-time Oscar award-winner Alan Menken (Disney’s Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast, Enchanted).
With dazzling dance routines and songs inspired by Motown, soul and disco, Sister Act is the funniest and funkiest musical around.
When disco diva Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a murder, she is put in protective custody in the one place the cops are sure she won’t be found - a convent!
Disguised as a nun she makes the wrong impression on the strict Mother Superior.
But when she transforms the choir into the most glorious musical act in town Deloris forms a lasting bond with her newfound friends - and the gang that’s chasing her finds itself up against an unstoppable team of soulful sisters.
CaOs boasts a cast of local Cambridge talent and will be led by Trenetta Jones as Deloris, who reprises her role from her performance at Norwich Theatre Royal as part of The Norfolk and Norwich Operatic Society.
Sister Act’s creative team is led by Chris Cuming as director and co-choreographer, who previously directed Oklahoma! (2014) and South Pacific (2013).
