One of the worst ‘not spots’ for mobile phone signal could be about to change after government funding was allocated.

In many parts of Bildeston there is no coverage whatsoever, however, approval has been given for a mast in Hitcham to be paid for by central government.

South Suffolk MP James Cartlidge, said: “I am pleased to hear that planning permission has been granted .

“It should be remembered that these masts are being funded by government in areas which are genuine ‘not spots’. This community will be getting better signal as a result of government policy to support rural communities.”
