Sign of times as creative firms in region grow
Jobs in the creative industries, including graphic design and computer services, have boomed in the East of England according to Government figures.
This region has seen a “dramatic” rise in employment in creative industries, says a report by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport.
Creative industries account for more than 139,000 jobs in the East and are continuing to outstrip other employment sectors.
One creative firm, which has experienced rapid growth, since its formation five years ago, is Sudbury marketing and web design company Silver Money, which is based at the Stour Valley Business Centre.
Director Andy Glass said: “In the past five years we have grown from a bedroom-based business. created in the wake of a redundancy situation, to become one of the most respected marketing and web design agencies in the region.”
Silver Monkey has worked for 120 different clients, built 70 websites, developed 40 new logos and company identities, and worked for clients in eight different countries, including China, undertakinf projects in e-commerce, signs, vehicle liveries, PR and video production.
The growth of digital services has seen it grow a successful standalone search engine optimisation (SEO) side to the company, headed up by manager Harry Fitzgerald.
