A Sible Hedingham transport company is celebrating its 30th anniversary.

De Vere Travel started from humble beginnings with just one vehicle, collecting children from school and doing private hire work.

Now the company, in Rippers Court, has a fleet of 20 vehicles and employs more than 30 people.

It is a family-run business. Founder and general manager Brian Davison is joined by his wife Jan, daughter Sarah and her partner Danny Saffer, and his daughter-in-law Nikki Davison in the business.

Mr Davison said: “We have established good working relationships with councils and many local people who use us on a regular basis.

“In today’s climate, we are really proud of the fact that we are still going strong after 30 years, and hope this continues for years to come.”

The company offers private hire for transport to airports, weddings, restaurants or days out for special occasions.

It works for 30 schools and adult care centres, and transports around 300 children and vulnerable adults every day.

Mr Davison said the company was looking to the future and hopes to expand its fleet of vehicles, as well as increase the number of employees it has, over the coming year.
