Residents in Great Cornard are being asked to identify roads which become hazardous in wintery conditions as efforts are made to launch a community gritting scheme.
Tony Harman, of Kempson Drive, is looking to introduce the initiative and wants people to highlight problem areas or volunteer to help with gritting.
“Winter is coming and, with the snow and ice, walking and driving can be difficult,” said Mr Harman,
“However, these conditions can be improved with a little community spirit through the input of grit volunteers.”
Following a change in county council policy three years ago, residents can register to use the authority’s grit bins on roads and pavements.
