Schoolchildren learn lesson in dealing with dangers
More than 700 pupils from primary schools across Sudbury took part in Crucial Crew sessions last week in an effort to make youngsters aware of everyday safety.
The week-long event at AFC Sudbury, organised by Sudbury Rotary Club, sought to teach the nine to 11-year-olds about fire safety, first aid, 999 phone calls, anti-social behaviour, electricity hazards and road safety.
They took part in interactive scenarios representing real life situations where they are required to think and act in order to keep themselves safe.
The sessions involved talks and demonstrations by several organisations, including Suffolk Police, Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service, St John Ambulance and UK Power Networks.
