Safety issues force delay

A HADLEIGH Sea Scouts production has been delayed for a fortnight because of health and safety issues.

The opening night of Biggles Scouts About has been delayed for two weeks after a health and safety audit declared the show’s stunts and effects were infeasible in the time before the show opened.

Group scout leader Barry Dallas said: “The ambitious stunts, effects and staging have not passed the health and safety muster – and this is a first priority for Scouting.”

Director Jonathan Moore added: “I understand now what the producer of the live Spiderman show must be feeling, but we want to achieve the very ambitious effects and hope that our audience will wait to allow us to reach for the sky.”

New performances will be at 7pm on November 5, 6, 7 and 8 at the Sea Scout headquarters in Layham Road, Hadleigh.

All tickets sold will be honoured or can be exchanged at Partridges Farm Shop in Hadleigh.
