Members of Sudbury and District Round Table recently helped out at the Kernos Centre on Friars Street, Sudbury, to clear the charity’s rear garden to return it to a usable state. The group had previously helped to clear the area in 2013.
As the Kernos Centre is a not-for-profit organisation, Sudbury Round Table helping to clear the garden enables important funds to be spent on front line activities so it can offer counselling to anyone who needs it, whenever they need it, for as long as they need it, regardless of circumstance.
The garden went from being overgrown and unusable, to an area that was cleared, with the beds weeded and replanted thanks to a generous donation of flowers and plants from Homebase Sudbury.
Sudbury Round Table members previously helped out with other local organisations including helping to clear an area at St Joseph’s Roman Catholic Primary School in Sudbury to allow for a new classroom to be built to meet expansion requirements.
Sudbury Round Table typically meets on the first and third Thursdays every month and is looking to help other organisations or individuals on designated “community service nights”.
