Concerns over pollution in Cross Street, Sudbury, has prompted Suffolk County Council to write to residents to ask how they would improve the area.

Residents have been asked whether they would consider three options given; do nothing and allow street parking to remain, remove all street parking, or alter parking so drivers can only park in marked bays between 8am and 6pm.

The council has told residents it hopes a link road on Cuckoo Hill in Colchester will encourage more HGVs on to the A134, but admitted little progress had been made in formally rerouting HGVs from the A131.

A letter has also been sent to Sudbury residents regarding the link road between Chaucer Road and Clermont Avenue.

It explains there will be periodic monitoring of the road to ensure only buses and emergency vehicles use the route.
